ART & CRAFT WORKSHOP WEEKEND

Workshops 4 Art are running a weekend of workshops suitable for all levels of ability. We are all professional artists with many years of experience and love the opportunity to pass on our fascination with art and craft to other people. Our main aim for workshops is that they should be fun and accessible and we offer a selection of different subject so that there is something for everyone.

At our June workshop the following options are available:-

An Introduction to Screen Printing – 1 or 2 days with Jim Munnion

This is a hands-on taster course, introducing you to the mysteries of screen printing!  However, as some of the processes are complicated there will be a lot to learn and expect some surprising results…

Willow Sculpture 1 or 2 days with Sophie Courtiour

Covering all the basic techniques needed to build an animal or bird sculpture for the garden using localy grown Somerset willow.

Sculpting with Wire and Mixed Media 1 or 2 days with Melanie Deegan

Using wire to sketch out the sculpture design and create an armature that can be developed into a finished piece using acrylic resin, colours and textures.

Textiles: Silk Painting and/or Felt Making 1 or 2 days with Sarah Meikle

During the Silk workshop you will learn the design process and practical application of silk painting. Felt Making covers a variety of methods including Nuno and needle felting using a wide choice of colours. Try both or combine the two to create something unique.

iPad Art using Paperby53 and/or Procreate 1 or 2 days with Alison Jacobs

Unlock the creative potential of your tablet. A fun and informative course in iPad painting including general information on best Apps and stylus – release your inner Hockney!

A single day workshop will provide a good introduction to the subject while the full weekend will allow students time to develop a more complex piece of work and experiment with a wider range of techniques. With all the workshops it will be possible to mix and match choosing a different workshops for each day e.g. Willow Sculpture on Saturday and Sculpting with Wire on Sunday.

Cost: £120 for 2 day weekend bookings or £65 for single day.

This will include basic materials, tea/coffee and cake. Please bring a packed lunch. For further details and booking please contact the individual artists.
